Thread: Mangorewa and Omanawa rd

Anyone had a nosy around these smaller blocks at all? I know the forestry and that side of the Kaimais gets hammers by pig hunters (snapped 8 hunters in 48 hours on my game camera )
Surely it’s got the odd deer floating around?
I’ve got some spare time to burn so looking at doing 3-4 days missions into seperate smaller areas just to check them out.
Alternatively if you have any recommendations on what smaller block to check out let me know

I have seen the odd fallow in Mangorewa but not a lot of sign seen in previous trips. I’m sure there’d be reds out there south end of it.

Yea no doubt, just looks like an interesting block that’s all, be good to get onto that ridge and walk that the whole way along

Went in to mangorewa afew months ago, just walked the track. Next to no sign around the track so didn't bother exploring to hard. The track coming back down the river is a chopper ride waiting to happen, slippery as fuck and full of hole just big enough to brake your leg

Yeah, it's an interesting little place around there but never had a rep of holding animals. One of my concerns with it is security of parking as some of the locals are a bit over people abusing the place (impromptu racer meet ups and that sort of thing where the place gets trashed and broken glass everywhere). Another is some of the legal access is not where the track sits so get the wrong person on the wrong or right day and...

But it's on my list to check out as well.

Yea like most the easy access spots it pays to get off the beaten track. You’ll be surprised to see how much sign can sit 10-30m off a track.
Much like a spot I have been hitting in the Kaimais over the last 3 days. There’s a highway that everyone walks in but it seems they never leave the track. I’ve found more sign then I’ve ever seen in other places!
