    Mazda BT50

    Hi guys,

Keen on some feed back on these beasties. Am looking to flick the faithful Toyota surf in the next 6 months and am keen to know what ya thoughts are on these. Am looking at the older models that sell around $20-$25k and in the 4x4 double cab.

    Anyone got one??

@mikee got one . From what I'm told good trucks . Just as out of interest I did see the new base model bt50 2wd 28 k plus all the on rd costs I'd say . That's a cheep truck . Not sure but I do know the 2wd fords have rear diff lock . ( good for baoat ramps and farm paddocks )

Drove both the Mazda and the Ranger with a view to purchase. Preferred the Ranger. Mazda I thought had slightly garish plasticy trim not that that was the only point of difference. After getting to the final part of buying the Ford opted out and bought a Subaru. Still would prefer the Ranger over the Mazda but that's just a personal opinion. Both very excellent trucks.
I looked at new because after searching around most second hand utes were low in age but huge in k's - by nature mostly commercial usage. I was replacing a twin cab Mitsi which was in great condition so mostly dissapponted with what I looked at in the second hand market.

Yeh, in the end the twin cab Ranger with canopy, although replacing a similarly set up L200, was a bit much for my wife. Went with an Outback which is very different obviously. Limited 4wd capability (capability more based on conscience).
Still lusting after a Ranger, as well as having the Sub, but no chance of that. Up to the Outback have owned a series of utes for 37 years mostly Hi Luxes.
