Looking for a reasonably priced property for weekend meat hunts for our socialclub at work.
Within 4-5 hours drive of Nelson preferably.
Any recommendations?

Including North Island?
Or just South?

Brads maybe ???
Somewhere like your place would be ideal, the guys mostly have a few deer under their belt now and are fair shots @ <300 or so but fitness is lacking (that goes for me too!) and the ability to recover the whole animal with only a fairly short carry or drag to a track rates highly:thumbsup:
Pm @Drahthaar he might fit the brief.
Brads place for sure
[QUOTE=Beaker;538816]Are ravs certified for towing? :)
If so, best idea out
If the timing is right, you can even use my 4 door plus trailer Cam
or swallow your pride completely and take my Mitsi
Any body got any sensible solutions to getting the meat back if we flew up to hunt Brads?

My cousin brought a freezer beast back from Wellington to CHCH, all cut up frozen. He got some dry ice and chucked the meat and dry ice in the back of his ute.
Or Outer Sounds Hunting Safaris | Trade Me just looked it up on TM no idea what they are like
Would still pay to contact them though they mite have somewhere for use to go never no ya luck !
Road trip looking likely. [emoji106] [emoji41]

Check out Doughboy safaris in Murch they do meat hunts, no sure if they have a season or not
I have taken west coast white bait and NZ mutton birds to Mongolia via Christchurch. Getting some deer meat from ni to si pice of piss.
If you road trip, in the back.
If you fly, get brads to sort the breaking down and bagging. Freeze it. Into chilly bin. Fill the gaps with scrambled up news paper. NZ courier or others, job done.
Dry ice, yes a great thing. However if you fill a bigger (50 litre plus) with a block of meat - frozen, it will be fine for a day or 2. Mid summer maybe a risk that you will have to eat the outer bags......
cam - when are you going? if you shoot brads i have a freezer at mine in napier - i drive back frequently enough i could bring depending on date - might have to shoot one with you guys tho
oh and there were a couple of meat hunt options in malb for reasonable pricing - contact malb nzda would be easiest spot
Have a blue 30? Litre chilly bin from h&f that keeps meat frozen 3 days really impressed, know they do big suckers as well
