Any one hear if they have been successful yet. I got a weird confirmation of application that goes round I circles email, and I'm sure it does say either way.

Happy Jack.
Confirmations are out.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.
No news is bad news I'm picking, some blocks have been confirmed this afternoon. Also some areas deer may be thin on the ground after a fair bit of Waro that has gone on in there the last couple of months
Yes bookings calendar is pretty full alright.
Its taken me three years of trying but was finally fast enough to get one

Its not what you get but what you give that makes a life !!
Well, my own damn fault. Forgot applications opened today and didn't get one in. Too late now by the looks of the booking calendar.
If anyone needs a fill in for a mate who might drop unexpectedly out I would sure like to have a conversation. Not really fussed about which block. Just wanted to have a Roar experience in Molesworth. Magic place.
Congrats to all who successfully applied. Wish you all the best.
Cheers
This is the email I got back.
This message is to confirm you have submitted an application for adding your hunting party details to your Molesworth Roar 2025 hunting permit.

Party leaders must note this date for final changes, as no email reminder will be sent prior to last request date of 30 January 2025.
The online form will ask for the following details for each person (hunters and non-hunters):
Full name (as shown on firearms licence for hunters)
Residential address
Phone
Email address
Details of whether they will be hunting – Yes or No

Each party member must be included on the permit (hunting or non-hunting) or the hunting party is in breach of the Molesworth hunting permit conditions.
So I don't know if I have one or not but thinking not. Very ambiguous
Yep i got that one too. Its just confirming they have recieved your application.

@Puddleduk Do you know what areas have been subject to waro? Am in there Labour weekend looking for a cham and maybe a meat animal or 2.
Ask Doc Renwick( or GAC, NZDA) maybe. As it's normally a non Waro area they needed to authorise. Needed a drop in numbers for sure in parts but as we know Waro have a habit of targeting the biggest stags.
They won't have worried the chamois.
fingers crossed -
From NZDA's website.
These operations have been undertaken by PĀMU Farms and have taken place on land close to the homestead in the Awatere catchment that is not open for hunting, and Travellers hunting block that encompasses the Alma area.
Unsuccessful email came today. I had my application in within 3 minutes. I was informed that this year it would be a ballot and not first in, guess I was informed wrong.
This years system is a definite improvement on the previous one.
There is no doubt you have to be quick with either. However this new system has made it possible for me to obtain a roar block and attend it with my boys.
Under the old system where by I had to enter not only my name but both of my boys names I would never have got one. I would have always been slower than the solo applications just by virtue of having to enter 3 names.
Well done Renwick DOC

I missed out this year and also got that weird email, needs to be a proper ballot draw rather than the fastest typist
Good luck to those that got a block, leave those young stags

I know the feeling all to well lads. 5 years running i have missed out but this year managed to scoop my first choice block for the second period.
Last year DOC promised a improved ballot however seems to be the same old!
