I've been thinking today I might email NZDA and ask if they would consider asking DOC if they would change the application system for Molesworth Roar blocks.
Good idea I might do the same
@Puddleduk how did you get on?

Didn't go my way which was expected as my typing speed is below average. This system suits the fast typing kind of hunter.
You couldn't get a worst roar block system and considering how popular the area is it's pretty dismal.
Could be a dud roar in there anyway looking at those photos of the poisoned deer.

    Bugger !!
Its a shame for sure how the system is set up.
1080 doesn't get them all mate. Might be heaps of feed for the ones left and some good condition animals as a result

I couldn't find any live ones after a few hours in a helicopter, from what I was told the NZDA couldn't either using a helicopter as well. Sure was a lot of dead ones though. They filtered in slowly over time. Still not what is was pre 2017 though.

Mildly interested in what you were doing in the area requiring 'a few hours' flying time. The only operations having taken place that i know of are aerial spraying, pre-feed and 1080 applications, aerial inspection of Transpower lines. That and a certain chopper operator who shall remain nameless who gets around a bit.
