Thread: Molesworth roar blocks /1080

Just being nosie on how those that secured blocks this year got on with the recent 1080 that was dropped on most blocks . Not sure if deer repellent was used or not but would be good to hear some feedback on deer numbers . As I know first hand some blocks do have a few deer getting around . Or used too ?

Heaps of deer in there, we saw more than a hundred for the 3 days we were in there and we were 5th period

3rd period with @Shearer saw somewhere between 6-10 in the one basin we hunted, never got ove the ridge into the next basin as didn't need to.

I say 6-10 as some could have been the same animals. All seen within less than 1km from camp.

Hi , saw 10 -12 animals all not more than 1.5k from camp , 1 fellow spiker walk passed camp 330yards , left him as we had a stag roaring , stalked in and my son shot nice 10ptr .

What are you referring to by 3rd and 5th period? Timing? Location?

Roar blocks are issued on Wednesday to Tuesday one week period. So I had week 3 the third week in March. Roar blocks are only available for 8 weeks or periods.

We were in Long Gully in November last year - just after the drops further north.

Only saw 6 Deer. Also around 8 pigs. 1 Chammois.

Some blocks are available outside of the roar too, the one we had is available year round.
