    Moved to Brisbane

    G’Day Fellas,

As the title suggests, I have moved from the Motueka Valley to Brisbane to work with the RAAF for a few years. Many thanks to those in NZ who have guided, encouraged, informed and generally helped me get to grips with tahr, chamois, pigs, goats and deer. I have had the pleasure of getting to know and hunt with a number of good buggers - Brent, Mark and Ben especially, but there are many more. I will be back, and hope there are some tahr, chamois and deer remaining whenever that is.

Looking forward to hearing from, and perhaps meeting some hunters over here in Aus. I’m a reloader and would be happy to help anyone locally wanting to get into it. Don’t have a licence yet, but will sort that when I can and hope to get into some pigs, goats, foxes, deer, or whatever soon. In the meantime, I’m getting very into flathead fishing. Not quite as exciting as my beloved kingfish, but great fun nonetheless.

    Cheers

Onya Penny, but I have caught hundreds of carp and enjoyed every one. Any fishing is better than tapping away on a computer.

    I will be back

Thanks fellas. Yes, limited options here, but I’m planning a trip after sambar when border restrictions ease off. Don’t have my licence or a rifle here yet, but will sort that soon.

Brent - thanks for babysitting my rifles and shotguns. I’m sure they’re in good hands.

    Cheers

Got an email the other day from a mate in NQ. He reckons the borders won't open till 2121 so maybe don't get too advanced with your Sambar hunt planning.

Especially the Victorian side of things... fwark its a scrambled egg down there at the moment in the city, those handful have the rest on a supposed lock down level 3 though, but thats not really happening only those feared by the current news trends are doing 'the right thing'..... business as normal for the rest really.. other states are fairly normal too from most reports.. just random shit blurred lines and weird agendas in Vic.

good for the Sambar if its not open until 2021, maybe your mate will get a decent one with extra year to grow another set of antlers.. although in sayin that the Victorians are doing a pretty hard out job of killen em all for Yas

Lived in Vic for many years but never got out east to Sambar country except to do the tourist thing around Lakes Entrance and further north towards the border.

Cannot believe that Vic dropped the ball so badly with Covid.

Do they still dog the Sambar?

Good on ya for crossing the ditch. At least we you won’t need to suffer Jacinda’s head booming ugly mug on the Tele every bloody night.
