    MT BEa HUT-Eyre Mountains

Just curious if anyone been up to Mt Bea Hut via vehicle recently.

Trying to have a plan B if weather shits itself over the Xmas break like normal for a quick mission rather than Plan A.

    Cheers

Was up there about 14 years ago. Shot a 10 pointer from the track past the hut.

The land that was forestry block owned by Rayonier was logged 5-6 years ago and is now owned by a local farmer who cleared it and pastured it. He is restricting access through his property on the mt bee 4wd track. He's real good about unlocking the gate for you if you ask, but I'm unsure of his contact details. Could probably track them down for you.

He was getting stock shot/stolen, had diesel stolen out of his machinery and had a general gutsful of people spotlighting up thru there and to mt bee, so locked the gate.

The huts are in average condition, a fair bit of vandalism been going on over the years from dickheads 4wding in there etc. Huntings just the same as usual, animals in there in places but can be hard to find. Best time of year to be seeing them is now though.

Tracks fine in a normal 4wd, just a couple of rough patches to get through. Pick your lines etc.

PM me your plan A if you like (what you were planning to achieve), and I may be able to help you with alternative plan B's if need be.

I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.
