    Muesli bar overnighter

Anyone done a museli bar overnight with just the bare basics, some OSM bars and a bivy bag?

Thinking it would be great for a short and sharp tops trip, camp on top off some good country.

Not my idea but this guys

Obviously pick the weather and know your limits but a good summer mission idea, on my to do list
Went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't find any.

I lived on OSM bars for 3 days once, about 5 years ago, haven't eaten them since

No offence but why bother? I go out to enjoy myself and the last thing I wanna do is eat a bloody muesli bar for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you pack properly a weekend trip doesn't have to weight that much.

Have left a few things at home because it was really warm but I found that you've gotta be sure of your weather and the gear that you do take

Anyone that wants to march up some big hills and survive on muesli bars alone will get what they deserve. Are you that much of a pussy that you can't carry some proper tucker? Buy yourself a sako carbonlight so you can afford to carry that extra bit of nutrition

My last trip I went basic and hadn't done that in a while, just had the bivy bag, air bed, knife, rangefinder, phone&ballistics app, 2x30L meat bags, 25 rounds, polyprop pants, fleece top, beenie and a 2L water bladder. No cooker and all I had for food was chicken and cheese buns.
If i took my 270 instead of the 300 blackout I wouldn't need the phone and rangefinder. It got cold at 3am but only 2 hour till sunrise and back on the move again. It was good not having gear that I normally have and wasn't really going to need it any way and made the pack so much lighter until it was loaded up with 2 spikers.

It makes me think how soft I am now and wonder how I servived with just a knife, compass, matchs, 5 rounds of 22 hornet ammo and a basic sleeping bag and a can of beans, sardines or corned beef crammed into a pikau bag in my teen years when I didn't know f##k all.

Goats mate goats, I see mobs of 25-40 of them. I just shoot my way through them going into my deer areas, the 300 blackout subs just bowls them. It's not unusual to shoot 20-30 a trip. I normal take 50 subsonic rounds and 10 supersonic with me. One trip I was glassing some deer 300m below me, a mob of goats came around a run on a spur that I was on and before lead nanny snorted and gave the game away I bowled all 14 of them one after the other as they came around the spur, all head and neck shot in a pile, shooting left handed ( I'am right handed) sitting on my arse 15m away from them without the deer below knowing a thing.

almost all of my overnight trips are on the bare minimum, I'm pretty miserable with my gear and go as light as possible.
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Haha, I got snowed in and caught in a blizzard up the Bettison a couple years back and ended up in there for about 9 days instead of our planned 5 before the chopper could get in. In the end all I had left was three boxes of homebrand sea salt flavoured crackers for the last couple of days, even the sight of those crackers makes me sick now.
Funnily enough I also had a carton of Malboro reds so had plenty of them but unfortunately the experience didn't seem to put me off them, only the crackers?
