Great story, and well done on your first deer. You will both remember that day forever, and the scar will remind you every time you see it. Glad it wasn't a life threating cut, but it sure looks to be a deep one.

Looks to me like a perfect reason to get a cool tattoo!

Great read, big ups to the lass for all her hard work and perseverance and toughing it out when things went slightly wrong. She'll be back in the field in no time.

    That's a gnarly cut!

Awesome trip mate. Plenty to be proud about there.

You even managed to do that Euro thing where they place a bit of foliage in the animal's mouth. Although you forgot to put some in your hat.

Nice work. It's nice to be out doing what you love with your kids, and practicing some of the real world stuff is never going to be a bad thing. The cut will fade but the memory of the time she got her first deer with her dad will last forever. Awesome.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Thanks for all the feedback team - lots of good encouragement in there for the young lady. Yes, definitely a memorable trip and as suggested she won't be forgetting how she got that scar anytime soon. I hear there were a few giggles in class when the teachers asked about the big dressing on her arm. Hopefully the boys took good note - don't mess with this cold blooded killer. Haha.

Deer number two is now down... she shot a nice Red the other day and the freezer is filling up fast. Suppose I'd better write that one up as well. I certainly can't complain about her enthusiasm.

Might have to start looking for a Chamois for her now.
