Thread: Napier hunting question

Hi All

Looks like i might be heading down to Napier as part of the cyclone recovery response.

Im Hamilton based so i dont know much about that area other than where i go at clements lol.

Anyway, i see Makahu Saddle road is closed so im geussing a lot of the access around napier to Public land is a bit difficult right now.

Seeing as i will likely only have sundays off work i wont really have time for big trips, and i dont have any contacts down there for private access.

So question, is it worth while taking my quadbike down? Will it be if any use to access public land within say couple hours of napier?

Any tips on where to go? Ive hunted up Makahu twice, once up Dons spur and once up the one that has Dominie hut on it and saw plenty deer both times but id imagine all that country is shut off for now?
