Over all most stag heads we have had entered in recent times with 15 heads on display. Chamoi heads were up on last year with 7 entries but Tahr down with only 2. No goat heads this year. Junior section was one by Drew Reed who did very well, winning the pig section with his boar being taken only the day before competition night. His stag was a beauty as well and very heavy coming in as 3rd in its section.
Of particular interest was the head on display by a non member and officially scored on the night, Troy Adamson’s Dad. With a DS score 347 and 18 points and extremely heavy timber, probably one of the best stags ever shot in Nelson in the wild. No whitetail this year, while they were the highlight last year, it was the Fallows turn this year, with 2 very fine heads taken
