Ive been wearing the Salomon’s for 3/4 years now...as a work boot really comfortable great, light weight. They feel like a running shoe. Nice sole feels soft in the heel so after a day on the tools your feet are not hurting. Also good lace system with nice locks on the side just above the ankle which means you can lace them up fast.

The Crispi. So far comfortable straight out of the box. as you can see from the scales a little bit more heaver. Harder in the heel when walking in comparison to the Salomons but not uncomfortable.

The only bitch I do have with them is the lace system is a pain in the ass. No lace lock also the laces are on the short side. I like to double bow tire my laces and you cant with these.

Once done up there fine, but if your in a rush they will have you swearing.

That said once on there good. No rubbing sore spots or sore soles. For a harder tramping hunting boot than the Salomon's these would be the go. But bush stalking with not a lot of river crossings id pic the Sals. I do think that if Crispi sorted out there laces and eyelets they would be onto a winner. I do like how the leather is nice and soft. Time will tell how they preform.

Not knowing any of this, the only recommendation is to try boots on in the shop and spend 15 minutes clumping around to try them.

I've just bought a pair of Crispi Nevade Legend GTX (wide fit) for alpine boots but they're too stiff to be a good bush boot. They'll get used in the mountains, which is what they're made for. Too stiff in the shank for bush stalking. My next boot purchase will be Crispi Titans; softer boot with good feel, but again, the wide version.
If the boots you're looking at aren't made for your feet or your purpose, then they won't work.
What ever you buy, spend as much as you can afford. The only thing you will use all day is your feet and, if they're uncomfortable and the boots aren't fit for purpose, it can ruin a trip.

Your comments are right, but some people whatever boots they put on after an hour hiking they still do `t feel comfortable. I have seen many people complained about their boots or shoes in my hiking days. So, I guess they wear the wrong socks.

Unfortunately, problems with boot soles is the failure of the mid sole, not the glue. The best glue in the world will only work for a short time. (until the material of the mid sole fails again). I have been through this many times. Ados, Shoe Goo, and a host of others. Strangely, the best I found was a floor glue but even that was only a temporary solution.

Dry your boots and take them for a walk often....like at least every couple of months it helps to pump air threw the foam midsole and keep it dry and prolong the inevitable breaking down of it and the sole falling off.

I've recently purchased some Meindl Island boots.
So far I've been very impressed, really good grip, comfortable through the ankle as they have memory foam lining the ankles.
Not overly stiff through the sole which is great on rolling hill country.

I can't comment on longevity as I havent had them long enough .

@Huntfish so the Titian’s have a lace lock system?
Shame they did not add them to mine. Real shame you have to really concentrate to get the right amount of pressure and hold that while you pull up the next lace. Attachment 195137 it’s that number 5 up from the bottom.
Really liking the boots but wish I could change that 5th one to one like the Salomon one. Might try giving it a squeeze with some pliers.

@Sideshow on the fifth eye bring the lace in from the top and out the bottom, that way it will lock. I’ve done that with another brand of boot.

That fifth hook is a lace lock hook, but those are hollow tube laces rather than the type with a secondary core, so they don’t hold well. I saw the technique you describe the other day.

Where do you buy your bamboo liners from? I use an old pair of thin polyprop socks as liners, but cant find them anymore.

Thanks for the heads up on that @stug Ill give that a go also @MSL Ill look at changing the laces.
Have even looked into having better lock eyelets put in as there are a couple companys here that do this.

Best boot I ever had was the Nevada legends. Unfortunately gone up to $730 from $580 when I bought them, can't justify spending that much on boots.
