how’s it thought i’d try my luck on here seeing if anyone’s keen to show a young fulla the ropes just getting into hunting but would be keen to go out and learn some things happy to pay for costs and a box your way
cheers

Welcome mate! Good on you for getting into it! All you can do is ask. A lot of top folk in your area, so odds are good... the big thing will be what flavour the box is... hopefully not that awful Waikato Draught stuff!! :/

Welcome to the forum.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.
Started my hunting around the Waikato in the very early 70's & found that the more productive areas reasonably close to Hamilton (say) were from Otorohanga south. Plenty of goats & the odd deer & pigs down Aria way especially on the road to Ohura. Hope that helps.
It can be rough country so there still should be good number of goats still there.
Call in on a few farmers would be a starter; just don't rock up to them with ammo belts crossing your chest, big knives swinging from your waist, or an attitude if you're turned down. Go to the next farmer....that's how I learned. I started when I bought my first rifle @ 16yrs old & have never looked back.
Aaaaahhhhhh!!!!!....the good old days.
Glad some younger ones are taking up the mantle & defying the gun grabbers.
Hi , I can take you for a day hunt in the kaimais but it will be end of June or if July as I have pretty much all my free time booked till then.
