Was just sorting a block for tomorrow in the blueys & asked the doc lady about 1080 at paino flat she said it was on hold but may still go ahead this year.
seemingly they changed there mind & waikaia got a dose a couple of days ago
Yep Waikaia done right at School Holidays.
Come on kids lets go for a walk in the Toxic Forest and watch shit die!!
At least they used deer repellant ....I'm a little behind the times I didn't realise deer were considered game animals now & not pests :) so I was told ? I should join the deer stalkers then I would no about such things.
Did they? They were never going to with this drop but reckoned they would be using smaller pellets so it would target smaller critters!
So on Facebook today i see a post from someone that says it has been put on hold again until after the school holidays, WTF is going on!!!
As long as there is money to be made in "green rain",it'll never change😣

Who's making the money @blake?
If they insist on carpet bombing these heavily hunted, easily foot accessed areas like the blue mountains, clements rd and the west coast where the possum densities are low it must be a cash cow. Just my 2c worth.

They are in the business of keeping themselves in a job. If they don't do this, they become irrelevant and then suddenly they dont have a job. Like all the other DOC people that have been axed in the last few years. The remaining ones, by natural selection, must be a wary scared bunch very concerned with making their work look essential. Battle for the Birds...even the name is full of desperate drama.
I excuse from this characterisation, the five or six DOC field people I have met in the bush and the other three people I know who actually work for them. They're normal well adjusted people. It's the imaginary DOC people that are dragging the outfit down. Someone should put a leash on them.
