    SI = less people, more dramatic scenery.

    To put the rainfall in perspective, west coast of SI gets up to 7000mm (yes ! 7m per year), lower NI in comparison is about 1500mm

    NZ bush is not to be taken lightly. Steep, muddy, cold, wet, lots of river crossings... Bloody fantastic, but be prepared

    Fall and Spring are relatively short seasons (50 degrees S). May probably seen as early Winter already, having said that ski areas in SI only tend to open mid to late June onwards.
