Sorry Pointer no but really really looking forward to your story
I think we need to start a stewart island thread for information etc. I see the other pub has one but it's a little out of date.
Pm JoshC he may have some information.
    How many of you going?
How you getting there, charter our own boat?
    How many kitchen sinks

Cheers sidelock - private boat. @Twoshotkill is the only other hunter on the boat, a few others there to fish and sightsee.

    Calling @JoshC

Yep I want to see him nail a buck - a jap stag, a red stag and a whitetail buck all within weeks of each other

Just a heads up, D O C has dumped the green stuff from 1 March--30 June, re possum control. Look up north Pegasus S/Island, #19. Have been six times down there a few years back, great place to hunt.

Two reds ... one shot each. Two for the jap.
Both reds were shot from 3 to 4 meters away.
The jap was about 10m and used a second shot to stop it kicking itself further dawn the hill.

10m is a single bound for a fit young fellah like you. You should have saved the round and just leaped on it and sunk your teeth into its jugular, all the while smiling and keeping your hair out of your face just in case a trail cam catches the action.
Twoshotkill, 223nut and Hutch like this.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

What luxurys are you taking in?
Last time I went some one brought a storm kettle and a solar shower really nice to have a warm shower after a hard day out out Would heat the water with the storm kettle and then fill the shower.
I'm taking this lot with me next year. Saves you from turning you sleeping bag into a salt mill after a dive as well.
I'd add to this a something to stand on, slates maybe to keep you off the mud
