Thread: NORTH TO SOUTH COST

How much do you guys budget for on a summer hunting trip traveling from North island down south 7 days chasing south island mountain goats (both species) Never been down south before and would love to come down at some stage with a mate to go halves in cost. Just meat and scenic hunting. Drive in and camp near truck and do a few day hunts etc
I know a few of you guys make trips down there so what does it roughly cost?

Work out the ferry will be about $650ish return Its a 1000km gisborne to christchurch. So a $1000 should cover fuel and ferry. I thought it would get up to that $2000 grand mark with food , couple nights in a cabin etc.
How far south would does one need to go?

My nzda membership gets me a very good ferry discount going by the 650 dollar figure.

If ya can go as far as you possibly can because if you don't when you get home you'll be saying fuck I should a went here there and every where when I was down there. You will not be disappointed. The south is an awesome place to be, Almost as good as Gizzy and HB

Don’t look at the cost and you will enjoy the trip more.
