    I used Lowa pro tibet boots for all my tops hunting up the Rangitata and in the Tekapo/Mt Cook area. Couldn't rate them highly enough. Good pair of gaiters is also crucial. Depending how high you are going, Early october may still see the need for some crampons just incase.
