Thread: November Tahr Hunt

Further to my bucket list post, an old mate and I have decided let’s start ticking some of our goals on the bucket list, so we are thinking of making the journey down south for a Tahr Hunt,
Am I correct in thinking November is a good time for a couple of old farts to see and perhaps shoot a couple of meat animals.
Anyone have any suggestions where would be a good place to start, I was thinking east coast, perhaps Twizel Tekapo area, but I would really appreciate any advice from some of you experienced Tahr hunters,

I can't answer about the east coast. But for a first time hunt and if you are older, consider the Tahr ballot through may and early june. You get to fly into prime country with tahr close about you.
