I reckon about 20%+ of the country they covered there might have been more arm work and less leg work. Especially the descents down through the scrub.

It certainly was impressive, not my cup of tea and I’m glad Willie is under orders to take it a bit easy with a couple of young kids at home but man that Bull Luke got was a Monster

@Ned If I was doing it I'd have needed a new sphinchter muscle as well; because it would have been clenching hard the entire time... To be honest; after the first gnarly bit, and with my poor head for heights, I'd have been lying in the scree in the foetal position crying my eyes out...

Pity about the helicopter poaching, seems to be getting more and more common.

I have done a lot of rock climbing and caving in my time and climbed some easy mountains. I have a reasonably good head for heights too, but I wouldn't have been doing what they did unroped and without someone belaying me.

Climbing unroped is one of those weird things, it means you can climb quickly which means less time in the danger zone, but don’t stuff it up. Sometimes the protection is poor and a fall would probably result in the anchors breaking and both climbers falling. I’ve only climbed one 3000m peak, Malte Brun, we climbed without ropes on the way up, hadn’t intended to, it just happened.

    Just watched it. Absolute machines.
Just staying awake for 17 hours would be a mission for me. What an amazing adventure.
