    NZDA worth joining.

Ive been a member for a couple of years or so now and i supposed i didnt really know the full details of all the benefits one gets being a member. After making some enquires a couple of new things have come to light that some members may not know(as no one i know had heard of it lol) and others that may now consider joining so thought i share them here.

    1. All senior members get a 10 % discount at Hunting and fishing.
2 You get a discount travelling on the interislander ( 45 each way, plus different prices for cars etc)
3 You get a 2000 dollar basic insurance cover that covers all hunting equipment while hunting.(i believe it covers things like if you lost your rifle in a river, broke your gps etc etc )
4 Plus the usual 10 million general liability insurance and 1 million dollar insurance against fires plus the normal things (ie use of ranges, huts, nzda nights, HUNTS coruses etc)

    Membership 120-125 cant quite remember

Still getting full details on that, it must be new. But it seems that while hunting if you damage or lose any basic hunting equipment, that includes your rifle, scope , gps, binos etc you can claim to a valure of 2000 dollars. Hopefully more details will be provided soon but seems very good and had no clue that you get 10 per cent at HnF either

If you join your local branch does it allow you to use other branches ranges, meetings etc? The insurances is a very good reason to sign up.

Knew of everything except the 2K claim capability. Would be interested in seeing it on paper.

I mainly joined to use the really great range facility NZDA Nelson have and for the liability insurance AND because most of the members I have met seem to be pretty good buggers.
BUT I have yet to go to a meeting.

10% is not enough of a discount however to get me to shop at H&F though

Not joining Christchurch (Canterbury) deerstalkers, EVER.

You don't charge new members more, than the normal for existing members, yearly fee, you charge LESS!, to encourage new members.

Might join if they ever changed that stupid policy.

This seems to be a rather strange policy if what you post here is true?
I have no reason to doubt you, but even I have read stuff wrong and then you think was I on about.
Back to the policy I think it is rather short sighted of them. The more young people we can get into the sport the better as far as I'm concerned.
Is it a one off payment? Or an annual one?
