Odd Question re Deer Ears for Dogs

Hi All

My first post here and a total newby on the hunting scene (after waiting for my FAL to be processed), so please take it easy on me!!!. I was lucky enough to go for a hunt on private land over the weekend, and between a mate and I we bagged a couple of Fallow (Hind and Spiker) and a Red Spiker too, should be great eating.

My question for you all relates to wanting to use as much of the animal as I can. I bought home some heats/livers and the ears for my pet (not hunting) 10 year old Lab.

Shall i dry them?? If so how is that best done. I have a dehydrator (wife not keen on me using for deer Ears) , or can i give them to her fresh and soft, thereby being able to Freeze them?

Save the heart for yourself it is absolutely the best part of any deer.

The rest just throw in the freezer and give to dog when needed.

Do as I'm doing.

Save the ears to get a rebate on your upcoming firearm licensing fee.
