    Okahu camp

Hi guys, I heading into the Okahu road camp for my 5 days of hunting, weather`s not to bad, wet bush makes for quieter stalking. So with some luck will see if I can bag some venison for the pot, will be in my caravan so any one passing hanging out for brew the billy goes on. Any updates on the area?, hope all the Rambo`s have gone, that's why I`m heading down on Sunday, they all have to go back to work. Cheers, .

Great! I’ll pop in Monday some for a cuppa. Be safe.

Properly catch me mid morning after a early look around, love those clearings down river and up the sides. Look out for a old fart cleaning a .50 Hawken. Was thinking of fly camping out one night with hammock to try a early morning shot, but weather looks a bit damp, but will see. Last time I was in they had laid poison every there, but saw one, a bit quick for me.

Hi Guys, No luck with the deer hunt, they are there but only seam to come out at night as the only bits of one I saw was on the road out when I was leaving. Still it was a nice break in the bush and glad to have the caravan to come back to. Couldn't drive to the road end as there is a washout 3/4 of the way in, but a fair bit of road traffic going in and out. While I had the chance I proof tested my new .50 Hawken barrel, came out good so now can range shoot to check the sights.

I have seen a stag running up the road about 2 kms from the car park. Hard case was that a machine had only just got off the deck 5 mins earlier, plus a bloody big truck was close behind the machine.

Wee stag was having a scoff in the middle of the road until we turned up
