@Strummer good to see ol mate managed to save in time this Banksie street art from the Tuhoe firestarter. As a committee member of the NZ Deer Cullers Assn,I could suggest this ends up in safe keeping with the Assn.Up until recently the assn's bequiethed historic archives.memorabiliar, etc was on public display at the volunteer run Brayshaw Park set up in Blenheim in a dedicated area for that purpose. It received average exposure at that sight .However recently all the displays were transferred over ,while retaining ownership ,to the NZDA hunting museum in downtown Wgtn for the reason of getting higher foot traffic, once again in a specific expressly culling display.Note ,I have not visited their new museum. This Banksie may well be appropriate for display there if you wish.Otherwise DPF = Protection Forestry Division of NZFS.Crumpy's scratching is bogus,he shot the Ureweras well before this Banksie was commissioned.PM me if suitable

I concur it should be preservwd by NZFS Cullers. IIRC the valley nw of the hut was a no go area and had a historical notorietry. Passed through on way to Te Panaa and then east up central tauranga and beyond on F&RES work around '65-6. Fading memories now. Found one of von Tempskis camps nth of maungapohatu one time, still with steel cooking pots and tripod supports amongst the wineberry regrowth. Founf a few pigeon troughs made from Halls totara but the side rails and nooses were long gone. I hipe those huts have survived the fire vandals.
