yes, but unless an access easement is agreed upon with doc and the land holders the firearms access to this part of the block is going to be a long long walk.

A certain helicopter company from Wanaka will 'smash it' before any recreational hunters get a chance.
They dont leave anything alone these days.

The more worrying bit is the 2.2ha in the middle of the doc block that they have rights to build more on in the middle of a doc block

long walk from the lindis highway to where the hunting would be decent though.

DOC will do a search and destroy mission long before recreational guys get in .

I think it's cool and good to get new public land, acknowledging the various issues that tenure review has. There'll be public access, and there'll be animals to hunt and there's really no reason to be as overwhelmingly negative as most of the responses to this thread. Jesus it must be exhausting trying to see the absolute worst in everything all the time.
