For someone to take your gear and also shit in your billy is a very low thing to do, hope they get caught I would say if the owner of the gear caught them they would have been given a bloody good beating.

These guys are persons who I would rate as mentally unsuited to own or use firearms. Not only that; they are guilty of potentially life threatening actions by stealing and destroying your equipment. I believe it would be wise if you were to post the incident in every hunting magazine and seek information. Local papers around Taupo / Turangi may be happy to post reports on your behalf . Getting a tracking dog up there by chopper would have caught the scum.
