Thread: our trip

got some time off work so me and my young apprentice went for a bit of a recon trip up dargaville way we were planning on heading to pureora but looking back at the weather glad we didnt it was still pretty shitty up north but we managed to have a look around thursday we headed up it was pissing down so decided to check out hunting and fishing in dargaville had some nice rifles there for sale and one followed me out of the shop dont know how that happened a beautiful little ithaca model 22 saddle gun been looking for a lever action to add to the collection and thought a 22 would get more use than a centre fire its the smoothest little thing ive used cant find any info on them tho @mudgripz my be able to help so after that we headed up to have a look at marlbrough forest only to find access roads where we were were all gated and it was hailing like fuk so on the way back we stoped at an old pub te kopu i think where a fire was going and we shared it with a couple of dogs whie we had a beer and a lemon crush gotta love those old pubs then home for t and a sleep next day was still pretty shitty so we headed to another doc reserve saw heaps of sighn but only 3 animals 2 were on the opposite side of the valley on a slip so we sat and watched them for a while and one other which didnt present a good shot for young apprentice but it was a good walk her first time carrying a centre fire in a hunting situation so i was able to watch how she exercised muzzle control etc she did well weather packed up again so we headed bak and went for a drive out to pouto then back for t and a sleep saturday was nice so we popped in for a visit to some friends up that way young apprentice stayed and played with her friends and us 2 went for a hunt on a place he has access to got 11 goats so a good time off was had cheers nd
