Thread: Overseas hunters

Hi guys.
Have a couple of mates here (USA) looking to get to NZ in 2017 or 2018- they are set on wanting a red stag.

Now I was pretty lucky to always have a few honey holes around and did a couple fly in trips each year. I don't have access to those places now as haven't been around and a few people have moved on.

Two questions:

If you wanted to give them 10 days hunting with a good chance of a stag and a possibility of a tahr or Cham how would you structure it? One area for 10 days fly in say South Westland or would you be picking a couple of specific spots for day or overnights and then a fly in if weather works. That way if it was shit we could get behind some pig dogs or go fishing.

Secondly, Feb March is out for me so would have to be early April unless you think January might be a better bet? Need stags in hard antler.. or later than May 20th. When would you take them?
