    Owhe block

Have booked east kawekas Owhe block, unable to find much at all about it online, if anyone who has been then could provide some info about what the terrain is like in there etc would be much appreciated.

Haven't been on that one but I hunt Kopitonui next door. Heaps of ferns on our block that is quite noisy in dry weather. Some pretty tight spots mixed with nice beech forest. For terrain info just pull up topo map.
    When are you flying in?
Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.

Start of April for 5days, do you come across any reds in your block?

There are a few but mainly sika. Take a couple of rolls of possum trappers tape with you incase the tracks are overgrown. I forgot to take some last year and it was a bit tricky to follow the track in the dark.

I’ve been into the Owhe a few times and always had success. Tight bush but there’s some good clearings/slips to sit and watch.

Predominantly Sika but I have shot a red in there.

Send me a PM with email and I’ll flick you something.
