    Pack Weight

What does your pack weigh for a week in south island hills tent, gun etc
    Winter Hunting
Just trying to pack but struggling to shed weight.

Between tent, gun, binos, range finder already got 10.12kg (tent will get split up)

Hard when you don't do it a lot and also don't have all the light weight gear

I have got it down to 17kg for 10 days chasing wapiti. That weight didn’t count rifle or binoculars.
You should be able to get down to 20 kg fairly easily for five days tops hunting.
Send me a pm if you want an idea of the gear I carry.

Drill holes in your toothbrush handle and dehydrate your water.
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

you can loose quite a bit of weight in the pack itself also. i had a tatonka bison. sold it , went to an osprey or two and way better carry (until certain weight) they weight less also.

My tooth brush is carbon fibre wrapped. Was expensive but well worth the cost.

I find this helps more from a volume of the pack point rather than weight... (Kidding but only partly when I've seen how small some females can pack their gear)

One of my big things is looking through all your gear and try replacing 2 or 3 items with just one that will do the job...

Im putting together a kit for some north island winter tops missions atm biggest bit is not weighing your back the numbers make it a lot heavier then it would be otherwise.
