    In Palmerston North

In the Manawatu at the moment. Here for another 3 1/2 weeks looking after my Mum. Hoping to get out into the Ruahines for a day trip or two. Then on to around Dunedin and then up to Blenheim and another week and a half in Palmy before flying home. This trip is bow hunting, next my rifles will come. Looking forward to the next three months.

    Welcome.
From your opening, I suspect that you have not been here for too long and therefore you may not have noticed that Constable Plod is spiting venom at us FAL holders like a Benzedrined puff adder.

So, when next you come "with guns" first do your importing firearms research homework and form filling or at best, Plod will just steal them, at worst, steal them and throw you into prison.

Thanks Kiwi Sapper. Wholeheartedly agree. Have NZ Police and Qld Police websites at home. Just can't find the list of allowable firearms on NZ Police site. Down due to having to be revamped because of changed legislation. Should be ok as it will be a Marlin Lever in 308 ME or 338 ME. But will be Jan Feb next year so plenty of time. But enjoying the rain today. Have not seen this much in over a year.

Rangi is as busy as Queens st at the moment!!
Was up there last week, ran into 3 other hunting groups over 2 nights and about a dozen walkers. One of the women in one night snored worse than I have ever heard - EVER
Like she was summoning the hounds of hell. Unbelievable.
As for Heritage. That was as busy.
Was in there on 24th. Up to Iron gate and back for the day. was near on 26 deg all day, hot as hades. Ran into 4 diff hunting groups that evening, DOC rangers and trampers .
    Busy busy.
I think anywhere close to a roadend will be that way at the moment.

Thanks Reindeer, went to Dannivirke side, went up stream. There was sign of deer an hour in on the stream bed. Boot prints of previous hunters, looked like a group of three judging by boot patterns. Had a great day bouncing over the rocks. I have a few ideas for my next trip which will be rifle and at least to nights.
In a couple of days off to Dunedin to have a look at the Mungatua's and tairei gorge and other areas.
Thanks for the info on Rangi, thought that would be the case.
