    Passing in the passion

For a while now my oldest has been asking me to take her out. Yesterday was the day and she jumped out of bed and had a hot chocolate and some food.

We got to the road end rather late but it’s more about having a positive experience rather than hard slog. The forecast was looking pretty decent and on the drive in there was zero wind. As we approached the gravel a large gust blew down kicking up a whirl or dust. Weird.

We got out of the vehicle and the wind was howling down the river from the tops. It was bitterly cold!
    She was not impressed:

It was my first time to the area as well, I knew there was a glassing spot on this face but had no idea where or how to get there. We walked up the river and couldn’t find a track.. we found a weak spot in the bush and pushed up.

Thankfully we found it after following some old game trails. The trees didn’t provide much cover from the wind so it was a little miserable. She tucked up in my coat and I froze!
After a while she started to get into it more..

She got into it so much I was commanded to go clear some brush for her to see better, to be fair it was blocking our view of the bottom quarter of the slip.

This is her as I completed my mission

No animals seen and we packed up and walked out, down the easier way.
We collected leaves and stones on the way out.

Still one of the best trips.

Well done, love seeing kids out having fun in the bush. Remember the jacket, the spare gloves, dry sox, lotsa chocolate, and the cooker. Good job Dad, look forward to more updates.
