Good to hear a positive outcome mate. Painfull for sure, but better than the alternative.
Make sure to let the makers know your story, as if it is an ACR unit, they will probably publish it on the website and give you a free replacement plb or battery.

The good news is you're back and safe.

Speedy recovery to you and hopes for no complications.

Good outcome. Hope you have a speedy recovery. And good on you for having a PLB.

Its no secret that I'm an old bugger (67). I was contemplating getting a PLB a couple of years ago and did nothing about it. I'm always in the bush by myself and it was silly not to. So of course the next thing is before I got one I arsed up with a heavy pack on late one evening and broke my wrist in 3 places, and had to spend an uncomfortable night in the bush by myself before struggling out the next day. It could have been a lot worse.

A PLB is never off my waist belt now.

If you have surgery don't ever play a contact sport again.

I have the same problem but mine is starting to come ok, hasn't dislocated for over a year. Have considered surgery but everyone I know that has had it has re-injured and you are back to square one
