Pengy to change forum name

Pengy and I took and englishman John Pearson ,over here on holiday with his wife Jen on a hunt in Ureweras on Thursday .They are touring round NZ in a Nissan Hommy which they have appriately named "Hommy" .We took him in via Richard at "Whites Clearing " and walked into Tetotara .John shot his first NZ red at the top of Upo clearing on the walk in ,which was good as the rain set in the next day and never really let up and we decided Saturday morning to walk straight out in case the river rose and made it difficult to get out .We left a very very happy Englishman reunited with his wife in Bethlehem to carry on their tour down to the South Island
Now the reason fro Pengy's name change .Last year he got a ballot for fallow over by Cambridge and arrived over there from Whitianga with a 270 bolt for a 243 rifle .You would think he would learm a lesson but we arrived at the Lodge on Whites Clearing only for Tim to have no bolt for his 243 this time .He went back with Richard to the Marae to check the car but no luck .Tim is going to get his eyesight checked this week because after going the whole trip gunless the bolt was found on the front passenger seat in plain sight . So for a name change I suggest he should change his name to "Forgotma Bolt " and as this means he changes his nationality from English to Indian ,he will be looking for a dairy to buy in the coming weeks

Dobbing me in for something I already confessed to doesnt quite have the desired effect. FON :)

We've had a name change once I say yes to it again!

Ha ha!!! Yay says me!! Bolt for brains!!! :D

I didnt forget or loose the bolt. I simply chose to leave it behind to give my visiting guest a better chance of getting a shot away.
And if you believe that, you are dumber than I thought. ;)

First time was when I got te Tapui ballot. I drove down from Whiti and walked into camp for the night before realising that i had a 243 rifle....and a 270 bolt.:(

put the bolt in the gun before leaving the house and pull it out when the guns in the car. Or leave it in whatever you feel like but at least putting the right bolt in before leaving the house will fix your old age memory

I like Pengy, it is a good handle

First time I took my Sako on a hunt was a roar trip. Flew in for a week and found I had left the mag at home. Only needed one shot :)

I have two 6.5x55. Took the wrong bolt on a Woodhill ballot hunt. Never had the opportunity to fire it that trip

Pengy it's very easy to do, I store my bolts in a little safe with my ammo, except BP which would only turn the safe into a bomb in a fire! I have a check list for heading out. It would piss me off badly to do what you did. Of course the really bad thing was having it in the vehicle and being to blind to see it, especially when braille was also avail. You must have an exceptional scope on that setup!:thumbsup:

Kotuku. I have been "Pengy" since the age of about 8 so I have heard all the usual stuff and it really is just part of life...water off a penguins back so to speak.
I am a great believer in the old adage about not dishing it out unless you are willing to get some back. All good clean fun mate. Well, maybe not always so clean, but fun anyway :)
