Pesticide summary - How to use it?

Have a chance to go hunting next weekend so started choosing a DOC hut etc then saw this image. That means pretty much no go doesn't it?

The list says it's Sodium fluoroacetate (Pestex), 1.5 g/kg, 1 month caution period, signs removed after 9 months. The notes on the DOC page says "Do not eat animals from these areas (except for areas where only cyanide and/or cholecalciferol and/or insecticides have been laid) while warning signs are present and operations are listed on the pesticide summary."

Is that a must rule, or a guideline? i.e. if I see a live deer it should it be ok to eat? Or absolutely don't risk it as it might have eaten some but not died yet?
