Where 1080 has been used, any deer live and running around after four months will be completely fine to eat, with no worries. You could take deer and eat deer much earlier than that, but that's kinda like saying its ok push over book-max loads when reloading, in both cases you need to know a little bit more about the subject.

Where it is cyanide only just go hunting at any stage and don't worry about it. Generally the type of bait used to cyanide possums aren't that attractive to deer, secondly a full possum bait is likely to give a deer a fast but minor reaction so they'll never touch it again, and lastly it is metabolised out of the body quickly so no residue in meat with hours/one day.

Finally take note of the map that says "will be laid" vs "has been laid" , DOC seem to be pretty good at keeping it up to date. Get in there before the 1080 goes out!
