Ok. It was a fb post from ACT , and one of their members is trying to get NZDA, F&G and Game Animal Council represented in a group reporting to govt. I will attempt another way.

Doesn’t seem like a petition to me, more like Act getting a mailing/membership list. They don’t need a petition to introduce legislation to parliament. If it’s a private members bill it gets drawn randomly from a biscuit tin.
Better than nothing . Good to know they are even thinking that way .
@inglishill check out this link https://www.parliament.nz/mi/visit-a...g-law-changes/
Even has a picture of the biscuit tin.
the wine box was already used
I see this getting very political over the next few years with long term intention of getting some kind of tax/fee from hunters to hunt public land.
Did you see the story about looking ways to get more income from the DOC estate.
Charging for Parking, Charging a % of profits on mining, increasing hut fees, access charges etc.
Some I agree with some I have concerns about.
But I do agree with Hunters getting more voice around the table to improve access and recognize the positive things we do,
So I think the ACT guy needs as much support as possible, the more suport the stronger his position to push this through.
Can't imagine Twig and Tweet being keen on having hunters at the table so we need to force this to happen.

They would have to change legislation to charge the public to access public lands. That goes for hunters on public lands too. And to do that, they would have to recognise the animals as a resource...which I can't see happening any time soon. Despite it being quite obvious.
