    Pig hunting spots Auckland

Hey does anyone know of any areas in auckland that have pigs in it that are available for hunting. I know riverhead has small numbers of pigs but if you know any other areas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Got to love these first up posts asking for magic spot X hunting spots.

Boarslayer101, the small DOC reserves are culled by contractors, the Regional Parks don't allow hunting except by ballot only for Hunuas (Waitakeres are done by contractors only) and the rest is private land (ie Riverhead), so unless you can arrange access with the owners/forest security, good luck.

I've encountered guys pig hunting in the Waitaks a couple of times. With dogs, without firearms.

Yep, those blokes in Riverhead are mates with the Forest Security. I see them regularly too.

Any hunters in the Waitakeres on the weekends are poachers, as the contractors tend to work Mon-Fri.

Plenty of guys who might be willing to take you out for hunt, so stay a regular forum member, tell us more about you etc and see what happens.
This time of year is tricky, as many hunters are away in the bush chasing after deer.
