Hi guys im new to this page and getting into pighunting pretty hardout lately.. do lots of hunting with the bow but now i have my own dog team and want to focus mainly on pigs. I know of a couple places far away but was just wondering if anybody could point me in the general direction of a decent access point in the tararuas.. i dont want your honey spot but somewhere with a possibility of getting on2 something would be great and much appreciated cheers guys

I've seen a few pigs around Dannevirke, is that too far for you to go?

Pigs in the Tararuas move around a lot, you have to be there at the right time. Totara Flats used to get a few pigs, but the area can go a couple of months without any sign.

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

plenty of pigs in the virke bro ,just stroll down the main street on dole day and you wont have much trouble getting a run.
probably better to take the bailers some of the sows grow large and are pretty fierce

Some good hunting in that neck of the woods (pukatoi,s) especially if you can get onto some private property/forestry blocks...good luck
