I was interested in that program, and saw some very familiar places. The river is not as bad as it looks, but shit those hills are high. My old neck gets sore just looking up them.
Hope you post a report when you get back guys.

Got away from Mta 8.15 ish. Spook we knew it was windy , slow trip along the road .
School bus had slowed down to zero mph.
No injuries (lucky lucky long bloody way down) Have heard Joy the bus driver is ok.

We headed for Gisb and yep took our wind along so it could join forces with the wind already there and become bloody angrier.
5 hours later cross the river and start heading upwards..

Just under an hour or so up into the fog on a road mix of gravel, slime, and the odd tarseal bit on odd the corner.
Fog and rain just kept on getting worse but finally arrive at 750 or so mtrs up at the home away for the next two days.
Unload all our shit in the rain yeeehaaa!!!!
30Calterry s turn to shoot first this trip so we get kitted up and head into the howling wind and rain to climb even higher on a 40 minute quad ride.
Around 1 or 2 degrees with wicked wind chill and horizontal rain hurt the face a little. Got to the off road part dropped in behind the hills and 20 mins
with couple small streams crossings had us heading upwards again. There are the odd large stags to be found up here on the station but not this trip. Upwards again.

We saw some big boys way off but impossible to reach this time.

Big country with huge bush lots. Saw about three sheep per hectare not much grass after snow last week.
Weather was getting rougher then Terry saw some way off over the other side.
Got set he took the shot and over she went. Don't ask me how far but it was a longish shot.
Hours walk to it.

Next morn my turn. No pics as got back to the hut to find my coat is waterproof and the pockets actually do hold water.
At least 1/2 a litre..
Great in the fucking desert but not when your camera is in there ..
Sat morn my turn.
Back along same place we spy a spiker about 180 maybe 200 Mtrs below us. Still wet as but set up to have a go.
It was head towards us eating and picking about. Put his head down so I aim just behind the head and pull the trigger.
Just as I do lifts his head up. My round must have missed his nose by a whisker and landed right between his front legs.
Yep still kicking myself. Go down and take a look find a mark and a bit of digging and yep that's where it was at..

180 gr in the dirt.
Shortly afterwards we pulled the pin went back to the hut and had a few beers listening to the jet planes right outside .
Home Sunday earlyish nice Red hind in the chiller. Well done Terry.. Piss poor shooting Happy but there you go .Good test
of wet weather gear for sure. Only failure on both parts turned out to be purple fingers under the gloves..
Great personally challenging weekend hard work walking round it in mean weather on a pretty mean block of land.
After note last night at 6.00 shot two Plovers at 90 plus in front paddock so felt a little better. Hope Terry shares some Venni... Ha ha
