As a NZMSC firearms safety instructor, working out of a police station for 22 years, I was told by a friendly Arms Officer in 1984, that police generally felt there were "too many firearms out there, and they would do what they could to reduce the numbers"...be advised.
Did they also say there were to many cars out there and would do what they could to reduce the numbers? After all, nash compared guns to cars and claimed as we register cars, we should register guns.
