Regarding Re-licencing, First Rule: Dont lie to the Police / vetting staff they have your records in front of them
I don't understand why , as long as you have put your reapplication in and paid your money , all of a sudden we are not allowed to keep or use our firearms...
So somehow magically on the date your licence expires are you going to turn into some rabid , frothing at the mouth untrustworthy ultra violent f-wit ?
Well I have been fine for the last ten years to the point I have had no contact with police, maybe one speeding ticket l think and I reported an accident and spent 1/2 hr at the scene helping the victim and clearing the road and directing traffic before the police finally appeared , but I can't use my guns after expiration because they can't be arsed doing their end of the paperwork which instantly makes me unfit overnight....
That is wrong , pure and simple.
Like Carhill carrying on about the dangers of starting pistols being converted and now, as they are not used in NZ for starting races anymore, how come we still have them in NZ. No one challengers him from the press? It’s not worth trying to convert one over making one from scratch, most are muck metal. But no one tells him to front up with proof! It’s hard to care about the cops anymore. You are discussing FALs, if you lose it you could join a gang and be looked after by the system?
Meanwhile today an idjit with a gun robbed the TAB in Wainuiomata...safer NZ my arse...
Well obviously his licence just expired..
Given that I got bust going to, and coming back from, an NZDA meeting on the same evening, does that negate or double the 'fit and proper person' score?
Seems the speed limit has changed as the spot on Google Maps still has it posted as 80kmh. $200 in total. ****s.
One minor ticket not a worry - BUT - if it was 121 in an 80 - start worrying - and dont go getting a rapid string of them
A speeding infringement is not a criminal offence, so I don't see how it can be used to ascertain someone's suitability as a "fit and proper person".
New law states that if you are braking other type of New Zealand laws, even not related to firearms, you can have your fal revoked.
I wonder if thats why my license is taking so long i dont feature in their system and dont have any social media so might be a relativley bit of an unknown to them...
Surely as most of us are old and grumpy bastards this is antisocial media:omg:
Those who hover near the edge of the wedge in regards to what is fit and proper do all LFOs a disservice, and to themselves a greater one. Those who go to the edge or the tipping point are the ones who aren't on the forum any more and/or have had a visit. Good job I say.
Was speaking to firearms officer today and he said that there was not much he could do re timeframes as they're prioritizing dealers over anything else, got quoted 4 months at least till they get to my C, It's already at 4 months so.... I'll be renewing 12 months from expiry it seems when that time comes.
i dont hate [thats a very strong word] the police but i do disagree strongly with their current operations in regard to firearms buyback and the way they police the gangs. They will have a lot of work to do to get the greater community back on their side for support
I Spent last weekend in the company of quite a number of coppers...SAR orientated guys n gals, never a nicer bunch of people have I had pleasure of meeting...some of the shit they get to deal with is unbelievable...who is it you think finds and cuts down the majority of suicide victim's ??? who do you think picks up the carcasses after two weeks in summer heat......fcuk that for a game of soldiers...but these folk do it,and it takes its toll.... I have a lot of respect for coppers in general...
traffic cops have a really shit job to do
love the radio add with young girl who spots a speed camera then starts asking questions of Daddy...
why do we have to slow down daddy???
because we will get a ticket
why cant we drive fast Daddy???
we might crash and someone might get hurt
Who might get hurt Daddy???
silence
who Daddy???
Daddy????
makes a fella stop and think....like em or hatem the laws reguarding speed are there for a reason....
I like living life without oppressive laws and being told by a PC world what’s good or bad for me, I don’t like government in my life or manipulating others live. I enjoy my family, I contribute my taxes, but hate the way it is wasted and know right from wrong. I am content in my later years with what I’ve achieved. But I simply don’t care about the police anymore, my empathy for them has gone, they need some good strong leaders and stop being government puppets.
Agreed, its hard to feel empathy for them when driving home from work on thursday night I spotted 4-5 of them hiding behind trees at the local school bus park apparently trying to catch drivers out doing something wrong yet they seem to have problems doing things such as processing paperwork in a reasonable timefrme due to lack of "person power" ....................................are we supprised.....................sadly no!!
As a NZMSC firearms safety instructor, working out of a police station for 22 years, I was told by a friendly Arms Officer in 1984, that police generally felt there were "too many firearms out there, and they would do what they could to reduce the numbers"...be advised.
Well some people dont mind destroying their own lives for the bigger picture of sucking off the public tit for the rest of their life and never having to do an honest days work in the private sector. And remember, he said EVERY person he spoke to supported what he did, so he is either fucking lonely or a good bullshit artist.
Now its cindys and the Christchurch mayors mate Potato to take her turn to do the job for the next 3 years, so she can do the same. And from her experience in the Chch council, she is a better bullshit artist than nash and should be watched with interest.
Story goes like:
In the Chch elections a few years back she was running for Chch East, all candidates had to mention other positions they were going for and any conflicts of interest. It was revealed well into the voting period, she was also going for a position on Environment Canterbury which she hadnt declared. When bailed up about it, her words were along the lines of "I forgot". Of course being on the side of labour, nothing more was said or done about it. Absolute bullshit
I noticed recently, his hair has gone very grey. Must be under alot of stress.
It ain't hard to connect the dots, The Royal Commission of Inquiry whilst purposefully limited and hamstrung did not paint a pretty picture for the govt and their anti-democratic/anti-gun agenda.
Nash is a senior mp so they got poto williams to take the heat when it came out.
