Private block hunting for a stag do?

    Hi all,

A friend of mine is getting married in a few months and he wants to organise a private block/meat hunt type situation for his stag party

His criteria is just a cool location for a few beers for a couple of nights, accommodation possibly and the chance of a deer each for a few of us. Nothing too flash or fancy.

Anyone got any leads? Preferably in the lower north island or east coast.
Looking vaguely at something like Te Awaiti but I’m sure theres lots of other operations out there.

Any info appreciated, pm if preferred
    Thanks

Why do I feel a shiver up my spline at the thought of a stag do hunting weekend?

One of the exact things that Josh James offers on his west coast rafting trips? Sounds like a bloody cool idea to me. I definitely get your comment and Id say plenty of people have the exact same thoughts go through their mind but I do think its unfortunate to assume the worst of people in that they would behave poorly with/around firearms. How do we portray ourselves as positive, safe and sensible to the wider public if we cant do it amongst ourselves?

I know @hebe and just because its a stag do doesn't mean you can't go for a hunt with good mates and enjoy the outdoors and come back make guns safe and have a few beers and enjoy a evening.

A stag for a stag. Two lives are going to end. Seems appropriate.

Dress him up like a stag, release him in the middle of the (fenced off, private) bush.
Issue overpowered airsoft rifles to the hunting party.
    Release the hounds.

    HUNT THE BASTARD.

Look I understand some of the reactions here. 100 percent.

But the facts are that the bush, hunting and gathering are hugely important to my friend. He wants to be able to share those experiences with some of our other friends , some of whom may never get an opportunity like this again.

I’m just doing my bit to facilitate that, and get some options together for him to look at.
    That’s all.

A couple of the private hunt operators I've spoken to this year have taken a hit because of a lack of foreign clients......I'd expect you'd be able to ignore their list prices, and negotiate a pretty good deal with some?
