    Promising

Been busy with the bees and Kiwifruit pollination but @BeeMan and I had a chance to check the cameras for the first time in 6 weeks. It's amazing how quickly you loose your hunting fitness as we were both puffing where we wouldn't normally have a problem. (We're allowed seeing as we are both over 60!!!) Anyhoo, when we got home to check the photos we found this beauty and he had only been there an hour before us. There were a couple of other good specimens but this one is promising.

    Wow!

Bees have come through winter okay but the kiwifruit orchards are generally a week late for some reason. The next 2 weeks are going to be the busiest but we have a great crew of 4 guys who just get on and do it. Typical spring weather, we've been trying to get our sileage done for the last 2 weeks (we do small bales) and it's taken all week to do 400 bales. Can't wait to go fishing and get away from work.

You'll need to buy some new binos first @Dusty Fog.

Is the second photo a young stag? Looks young in the face to me, what's everyone think?

Hard to tell the age of this stag in this shot as the various heights and angles the cameras are set at at can depict huge differences. I will try and hunt out another shot of him for you @RUMPY

    Only a baby!

Should be a beauty in 2 or 3 years time if he lasts that long

As an interesting aside I shot a doe last week that weighed 153kg gutted, pluck in head on. The heaviest doe in 3 years of meat shooting
