I guess it depends where they are to call it a hunt, I used to see mobs of 50 or so in Mt on the high praire, amongst the CRP land and on the freshly bailed alfalfa/ wheat crops. They would trot away when you got to about 200yds away.
So would have been easy to pop them at 250 while they stood there looking at you.
The biggest caliber we had at the time was a .45 ACP colt. So I didnt get to taste any, I dont see why they wouldnt be good eating.
They would be a great challenge with a bow like you are doing @A330driver
We also saw a lot of Mule deer if we left it too late coming home and it was dark. Man I would hate to hit one of them as they cross the road.
