    Public Land Turangi

    I'm in Turangi for a couple of weeks and wondering if anyone could please PM me some public spots that there might be the odd deer hanging around?
    more looking to get out for a walk but if the right animal showed up I'd have a crack. Be good to get out and at least hear a stag roaring, Ive missed the roar and duck shooting 3 years in a row now with work.

    Kiko road, just to the north or Kaimanawa road to the south if you want a Sika.
    Pihanga saddle or Tongariro for a red. Heaps of options in that area.
    Experience. What you get just after you needed it.
