Waihora lagoon. Nice spot used to be guaranteed a pig in their. Been quiet lately animal numbers have been good but everythngs gone dead for the last month or so im only finding small amounts of fresh sign. Think its been about a year since the last of the green stuff was dropped on south block so things should be picking up. A good spring spot in there. I hunt ngaroma alot and its due for drop at the start of the year:mad:

Thank's for that Cartman. Yeah off track there was a lot of pig rooting in there, But looked really old. Keen for another look down there one day. Also got mate's in Arohena who have suggested to look around Ngaroma as well.

It is a different story in the Roar. The place is mad. Car parking is at a premium and high vis is the minimum

Went there around then, Talked to a lot of hunters and there were a lot of tramper's too. That was around the bog inn area.

went for a walk there two weekends ago. I haven never seen so much deer feed - broadleaf, five finger etc etc was everywhere. All the deer shit was OLD though. No fresh sign.

Plenty of dog and 4wd prints too. I might keep looking as its only 35 minutes from my house.

    So…..anyone been in lately?
Going in next weekend with 2 mates. One has been in the UK for 2 years so want to find where they are so he can have a good crack at popping one off.
He knows the area better than me, but ya know. Like bsa89 said, our hunting area is fucked ATM!!
Thinking of going towards bog in? Any info lads?

    Cheers.

    Hi guys.
Had a good hunt down Pureora in the weekend. No deer but got on to a few of them with one really good sighting. My mate who was on his second hunt had bent down to check some poo, as he looked up a deer was standing 10m in front of him then bolted. He wasn't too sure what to do, and she was goooooone. But he was stoked none the less. He also learned the hard way about crossing slow flowing creeks. Instead of finding a narrow bit he decided to try run through the widest bit. Nek minute, up to his thighs in mud, stuck. Classic.
We rolled on some more and came across a deer or 2 skipping down below us. We tied to get down but they too were gooooone. All good.

So no deer again but another good weekend with mates in the bush.

DOC is all up the shit. Website says they have bombed the Piro Piro flats area etc. But the DOC lady down there at the DOC site said no bombing has been done????
You would think with 1080 being poison, they would get there shit sorted!! MUNTERs!!
