The amount of vermin I see in there is hard to believe. Have footage of a lot of cats, as well as stoats, possums, rats. Goats too if you class them as vermin. Just hope the poison doesn’t get the kiwis.

Does anyone here volunteer to do bait stations? Surely the more volunteers for ground baiting will equal less regular aerial drops.

I would like to look into it on a casual basis, I'm sure you would knock animals over or at least discover new areas whilst doing it.

Ran into a group of people doing the Tunawae catchment/wildlife hut this time last year, they were good to chat too.

With the phenomenal feed growth happening at the moment, I can't see it being too successful?

Anywho, venison from there will be off the menu for the foreseeable future for locals. Just as the summer BBQ season hits.
Much the same with the planned northern Ruahine drop, last i heard was between now and April. FFS

Yeah good they are using repellent, its been quite a few years since the last drop that really decimated the deer population. But the Hihitahi is a prime example of an area that could be done with traps and bait stations etc, there is vehicle access around the whole bush edge practically.

I saw the sign at select loop last week that had the pre feed as the 24th Nov, so that would make sense

If you follow the money you will find
    Always a conspiracy, in behind
Promoted by a narrative, which is a story much told
Of greased palms - and the passing of gold
Its about Covid and 1080, and rules about guns
There’s a conspiracy here for everyone!

Actually half of that is bullshit but if you're dumb enough to believe it, I can't be arsed telling you which half

Even if half of it is true that means the MSM are liars half of the time.

I should point out that saying half is bullshit does not preclude the possibility that the other half is ALSO bullshit

Until there is a price per head killed.....it can never be a level playing field.. it would be very very easy to up the amount of possums killed by the public.extremely easy infact..just change one little itty bitty rule and tweak another. Allow shooting after dark and the use of rimfire or shotgun on public land...with thermals to help find them to begin with ...yip I would go for night time walkies and pluck possums as I went.
