Thread: Pureoras

Went for a look into the Pureoras today, very little sign around. Walked in around Bog Inn for 10 Km's and only saw 1 set of decent hoof marks. Some pig sign though. I wonder if 1080's been dropped recently?Anyone got some ideas of where I can bag my second deer in the Taupo area?

I know they boomed shit out of it with 1080 a few years ago.

Usually gets a dousing every few years. If you have to hunt on that side of the lake try the other side of Pureoras, Ngaroma block had plenty in it last time I was there in January

Pointer is correct, it gets 1080'd approx every 5 years. The latest was within the last 12 months.

Fuken sucks the hunting starts coming back up and they nuke it again. Its a real easy handy park to alot of people pity its managed so piss poor

Ngaroma at the start of Jan still had a few cruising around in it, been nuked since?

Yes Pureora has been hammered angain this year not long after the roar - from what i have been told there was no repelent put in it as well , not sure about north block (Ngaroma) There WERE plenty of deer in the roar
I say were because a lot of stags came out of there over the roar period and 2 hinds were taken off the road side in the middle of the day.
Im pretty sure the 1080 was suposed to be on the easten faces of the main block (Bog inn east)
